Eight people were killed in Paris by the French police during a demonstration against the Algerian war. In the Algerian maintenance campaign in France, the far-right OAS committed several attacks in Paris against which the police violently attacked the demonstration convened by the trade unions. At that time, the police were presided over by Maurice Papon, a former Nazi collaborator.
