12 January 1964,
The Zanzibar revolution explodes in East Africa. Some 600 rebels hosted strategic buildings in the morning. Despite the independence of the previous year in Britain, the government was in the hands of the Arab minority that dominated the island for 200 years.
In view of this, African political parties met. After a few hours they got the government and founded the People's Republic of Zanzibar, but it lasted little. Four months later, the new president negotiated accession to the island of Tanganika and formed Tanzania.
