The mayor ordered ten women from Zaldibia to be imprisoned for “bad postures.” These attitudes were precisely unmarried sex. At the request of the women, they were allowed to testify, and in them they explained that many of the relationships were deceived or violated, and that all had one or other children in charge. Nothing was done against the parents of these children.
The women were Barbara Agirre, Maria Bauptista Agirre, Maria Albisu, Maria Barcelona, Margarita Eleizegi, Maria Juaniz Iraola -Agirre, Katalina Iztueta, Maria Gartzia Jauregi, Maria Arroiz Mendiola and Mariana Mendiola. After being arrested, they were able to testify, their cases were allowed and released several days later.
