The 241 popular platforms presented to the municipal elections were banned in Hego Euskal Herria. The municipal and foral elections on 25 May were the first after the outlawing of the Batasuna party. Therefore, popular platforms were created to ensure representation in municipalities. The Left Abertzale created the Forum of Self-Determination for Forced Elections (AuB) platform, which was also banned by the Supreme Court. However, over 150,000 people included in the ballot box ballot papers of illegalized lists as an exercise of disobedience.
