Five people were arrested in Bermeo at the end of the Mass in memory of Txabi Etxebarrieta. In the latter, the Civil Guard arrested five young people as a result of the incidents that occurred when crossing with young policemen. One of the young people had to go ahead of the Court of Public Order. It was not the only act in favour of Etxebarrieta, but also in Bizkaia such as Lekeitio, Markina and Gernika. Three weeks earlier, on 7 June, Txabi Etxebarrieta shot civilian guard José Pardines, and a few hours later, the Civil Guard captured at Bentaundi de Tolosa and executed him shooting on the ground. Unprepared before, they were the first person killed by ETA and the first ETA deceased, causing a political earthquake in Euskal Herria.
