19 March 1978,
5,000 workers of the company Babcock & Wilcox of Sestao occupied the plant. Firstly, they protested, closed two days to defend their jobs. Families shared food in the workshop patio. In view of the suspension of payments by the company, the workers requested State intervention. The closure of the company involved the direct or indirect loss of 20,000 jobs. After many years of fighting for jobs, the factory was closed in 2011.
