Robert Caplanne, an electrician, dies after an attack. 11 days before, on 24 December 1985, two members of the police group GAL shot four, three of them severely hit in Biarritz, Lapurdi.
He was not a refugee, but he was attacked thinking he was Henry Errasti.
Caplanne's parents had the bar La Croix in Biarritz, to which many refugees came.
The GAL is one of the denominations that the Spanish secret services used for the dirty war between 1975 and 1982, composed of members of the extreme right. These groups killed at least 70 people in the Basque Country during this period.
