Navarro Pedro de Rada was tortured by the Castellanos during the conquest. De Rada was the leader of the uprising of Murillo the Fruit in favor of the kings of Navarra. He was arrested and sentenced to death. After several hours of terrible pain in potro torture, the bones left their place and killed the disconnected body. Since the Spanish army of the Duke of Alba controlled the Ribera, the members of the Navarre crown were exiled, tortured and killed. The inquisition was also introduced in Navarra by the Spaniards.
