The World Climate Conference met for the first time in Geneva. It was organized by the World Meteorological Organization, focusing on climate change and global warming. To date 23, multidisciplinary scientists from around the world participated, divided into four working groups: analysis of climate information, identification of climate issues, integrated impact studies and research on climate variations. From it came institutions and programs like the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
