Mikel Arrangi Marin was killed by the Civil Guard in Etxarri Aranatz. In the evening, when she was traveling with her friends from Ziordia to Lakuntza, the Civil Guard shot her car in a metralleta at the height of the barracks. There was no control or signaling on the road.
The strikes and protests that took place to denounce the event were numerous and the Spanish Police also faced them. Arregui was a member of HB and a councillor in Lakuntza, in his village. It is an unresolved murder in which no one has been tried or convicted.
