07 December 1953,
Death of Euskaltzale Miguel Muñoa in San Juan de Luz He was a committed entrepreneur, founder of the first ikastola of San Sebastian in 1914, where Miss Elvira Zipitria and others began before the war. The ikastola located on the current street Fermin Calbetón, was small in three years and founded in the convent of the Carmelites the so-called Basque College: six teachers, 200 students. He also increased, bought a new house in Ategorrieta, Karmen-enea. In the Morlans neighborhood, another opened for leisure with sports facilities.
Both the teachers' salaries and the students' books' money put them out of their pockets. As the ikastola gets smaller, he bought new spaces and promoted and produced school books in Basque: Numbering, Lutelestia, Basque Grammar...
The 1936 Franco coup d'état forced him to flee to Ipar Euskal Herria.
