26 June 1960,
Madagascar proclaimed independence with France. However, it was closely linked to France and President Philibert Tsiranana was strongly criticised for defending the interests of the French by the citizens. For this reason, students started strikes. In the past, the French used violent repression against those who fought for freedom, at least 40,000 people killed and, for example, expelling prisoners from planes over the peoples who were raised.
