10 January 1933,
A team of day laborers and peasants began an anarchist uprising in Casas Vieja, Cádiz. This is a state uprising organized by the IAF, although sponsored by the CNT. They surrounded the Civil Guard headquarters and killed two officers. The next day, the Republican government stepped up. The Guards of Assaults surrounded the building in which the trade unionists were broken, shot all those who caught fire and went out. The people arrested in the village were shot directly and the bodies were thrown into the fire. A total of 26 people were killed, causing a serious political scandal.
