60 years ago, Javier Batarrita Elexpuru was killed by the Spanish Civil Guard in a roadside control. Believing he was a member of ETA, mixed, he shot himself in the head and restitched with another 48 shots on 27 March 1961. Martin Ballesteros travelling in the same car was seriously injured. The Franco authorities of the time declared the event a “fatal accident” and did not condemn anyone. The crime of Bolueta has been baptized in the memory of many people.
