Incidents in Anglet and Baiona as part of the European Union Summit in Biarritz. A demonstration in favour of prisoners and refugees was launched from Baiona with the aim of bringing the claim to the summit. The incidents began when police cut off the road in downtown Angelu. Stones, Molotov cocktails and tear gas were thrown, and 40 were stopped. Some managed to reach Biarritz and transfer their demands in favour of the prisoners to the president of Spain, Zapatero, but there too the police attacked the citizens with tear gas. The protest had great relevance in the international press.
