The Inquisition questioned the Zugarramurdi in Logroño: Graciana Barrenetxea, María y Estevania Iriarte, Juanes and Miguel Goiburu and Joanes Sansin.
At the end of January, the arrests of the Inquisition in the people terrorized Logroño by his will. Although Seira was declared innocent, they were arrested. The inquisitors, convinced that there was a cult of worshippers of the devil Zugarramurdi, decided to send it to the Catholic fundamentalist Juan de Valle Alvarado and undertake a famous process against the “witches” of this Navarro people.
In Euskal Herria, from the first executions of the documented Inquisition (1329) to the last (1610), between 200 and 323 people died, all “legally”, especially women.
