Bilbaíno Iñigo Egiluz and Colombian Jorge Luis Mazo were killed by Colombian paramilitaries. Egiluz was a cooperator of the Third World and Peace NGO, and Colombian priest Mazo. The paramilitary groups Autodefensas Unidas beat these two people in the Atranto River with another boat in which eight other people traveled. They acted with the support of the police and in 2022 the State of Colombia was held accountable by the courts.
