25 December 1914,
I. During the World War, thousands of British and German West Front soldiers, disobeying the orders of their officers, went to the land of no one and celebrated the Christmas Eve with the enemy soldiers, an event known as the Christmas Ceasefire.
Above the nationalist hostilities, the class of solidarity between them was imposed. The day before they sang Christmas songs from their trench. No one joined in intermediate lands to redeem Christmas gifts: cigarettes, whisky, etc.
In the following years there was no widespread disobedience, as war propaganda was hardened and each army tightened orders. However, the event is not forgotten.
