He accused of being homosexual, the Mexican inquisition burned fourteen live men. In the territory known as “New Spain”, the Spanish authorities believed that the citizens were relaxing, so the king of Spain, Felipe IV, issued the order to punish public sins. In the process initiated in 1657, 123 people of various races and social backgrounds were accused of “sodomia”. Although many fled, nineteen were arrested, of which fourteen were sentenced to death. Among the deaths was the transgender kiln Cotita de la Encarnación.
