30 August 1936,
Juana Josefa Goñi, pregnant, and her six children were thrown into the cave of Legarre in Gaztelu. It was one of the hardest crimes of the 1936 war.
It has been 80 years to shed light on what happened in a 50 metre deep cave, in which its neighbours held a meeting in order to make small burglaries in the village gardens and agreed to their expulsion. When her husband came back from the war, the family was completely missing and nobody told her what happened.
Thanks to José Mari Esparza's investigation of years, the 36th war revealed crime and Aranzadi society discovered the bones of the family in 2017.
