26 February 1977,
The Civil Guard beat some 200 people who were running a lockdown in the church of Lekeitio. It was the first week by Amnesty and hundreds of enclosures were made in parishes throughout the Basque Country. At some point the priest entered the church of Lekeitio and said that the civil guards had the building surrounded and that they would come in. People in lockdown began to leave. The civil guards stood on both sides of the door and beat those who came out. Antxone Telleria was brutally beaten and had to be taken to Cruces Hospital. He had major damage, such as skull fractures and memory loss. He performed forty-six days in the neurology and ICU section of the Cruces Hospital.
