The gendarmes tore down the door of José Bové's estate and brought her to Montpellier prison by helicopter. Trade union and environmental activist, sentenced to 10 months in prison for various acts of sabotage, or for dismantling a McDonalds restaurant with a GM or excavator, voluntarily refused to enter prison. After a strong campaign in his favor, at five weeks, when he was released, he said: “I’m very happy to be with all of you who have come to support me, prison hasn’t changed my ideas.”
