Fidel Castro, president of Cuba, dies in Havana. On the same day of death, 60 years earlier, he left Mexico aboard the Granma, under the command of the guerrillas against the dictator Fulgencio Batista, and after a long war they managed to bring down the dictator who was protected by the United States. It pushed for land reform and corporate nationalization in the country. The United States tried to kill her on several occasions.
