Russian troops entered Ukraine and began the invasion. After Euromaidan, since 2014, the Donbass region was at war between the Government of Ukraine and the separatist and Russian forces in the region. The Russian decision of 2022 extended the war, the deaths and injuries across the country and caused tens of thousands of refugees. The war accelerated the militarism and media censorship in most European countries, adding to the interests of NATO and the US.
