19 September 1838,
It was a battle in Forgiveness during the First Carlist War in the Pamplona Basin. A week earlier, Liberal commander Baldomero Espartero moved to Logroño, leaving only five liberal battalions at Estella. This was exploited by Carlist troops to attack and triumphed easily. Fifteen soldiers were also killed and 150 wounded, causing 200 casualties and 550 prisoners. The Carlists had made a guerrilla war on the liberals, and despite being a war of the entire Spanish state, the epicenter took place in Hego Euskal Herria, beyond a dynamic war, where one of the two sides had promised to respect their laws. The uprising in Hego Euskal Herria lasted for six years, eliminating the capitals controlled almost the entire territory and from the Spanish state they had to send thousands of military to control.
