08 October 1934,
Emilio Iguzkiza was shot to death by the Civil Guard in Altsasu, with his 14-month-old son in his arms. As part of the October 34 Revolution, Altsasu was also a day of strike. At the end of the workers’ demonstration, he appeared to the Civil Guard and arrested two PSOE charges during the citizens’ protest. A civilian guard shot and killed Iguzkiza. No one has ever been tried for this murder.
