Émile Zola was tried by J’Accuse...! by writing the article. The open letter addressed to the French President was based on a matter known as Dreyfus. A Jewish military from Alsace was sentenced to life imprisonment for falsifying. In his letter he declared the trial inhumane for having condemned the innocent and acquitted the guilty. He pointed out to those responsible for injustice the phrase “j’accuse”.
