An ETA command made a bomb explode in the Sukarrieta chalet of gynecologist Juan Antonio Usparicha. The paper they published after the attack reported that this doctor was the head of an abortion movement, but that women who could pay at the same time performed abortions in their private clinic. They stated as “action to protect the liberation of women” and that “they would join any initiative that could lead to progress in the liberation of women”.
