Three ETA members were killed by the Civil Guard in the Donostia district of Morlans. After arrests in other locations in the early morning, these tortured people discovered that in a Morlans house there was a ETA command. It was Big Week in Donostia. At 6:00 in the morning hundreds of agents took the neighborhood and surrounded the house.
A four-hour shootout with more than 600 bullets was launched in the vicinity of the shootings and fire grenades were launched. Result: Patxi Itziar, Iñaki Ormaetxea and Jokin Leunda were killed.
The Municipal Guard closed the area and there were no witnesses. The authorities refused to provide information on this operation led by Luis Roldan and Enrique Rodríguez Galindo.
In San Sebastian, there were big riots that night.
