03 December 2001,
The corralito broke out in Argentina. President De la Rua limited the amount citizens could obtain from current accounts. The country was already in a poor economic state. It caused an economic, social and political crisis, with strong citizen mobilizations against government measures. As a result of the riots, De la Rua resigns his position and flees by helicopter from the Pink House. 57.5% of the population remained in poverty.
