01 May 1966,
An ETA command conquered the Biscayan people of Garai in full Franco. Under the direction of Xabier Zumalabe, etarra El Cabra, an ikurrina was placed in a spectacular place and the town was filled with painting.
They cut off the town's telephone line and filled with chinchetas the roads for no one to enter or leave. They left before the arrival of the Civil Guard.
The goal of the action was psychological, and contemporaries were deeply shocked by the actions, as it was the first time a resistance group was publicly presented.
