Former Hidalgo Civil Guard who tortured many Basques dies in Jaén

Former captain of the Civil Guard, Manuel Hidalgo, known for the torture of many citizens in Bizkaia dies in Jaén. It was known for savage mistreatment in the areas of Busturialdea, Lea Artibai, Durangaldea and Mungia. Many mungiarras remember how he tried to pour a tree because the citizens had placed an ikurrina. During their stay in the Basque Country they occurred:
Joaquín Diestre was shot by the civil guards at the shots of Fruiz in 1973; Pedro Bilbao was shot in a control by the civil guards in 1974; Alfredo San Sebastián was shot by the civil guards in Mungia in 1975; Blanca Salegi and Iñaki Garai in 1975 were shot in Gernika by the civil guards in 1976; during the Bermeo siege,
After the death of the dictator Franco, in December 1976 the authorities of the time finally decided to transfer Captain Hidalgo and was sent to Leon zuten.Urteetan to be awarded by the Government of Spain as lieutenant colonel.
He never had to answer for torture.
