06 June 1978,
Hundreds of workers from the company Firestone on strike in Bilbao blocked the bank of Bilbao all morning. Long queues were created in the bank's office, as each worker started opening current accounts of about 100 pesetas, using minimum value coins. In this way, employees went from one window to another, putting and taking a few pesetas into these accounts. The bank was one of the company’s shareholders, who took responsibility for the company’s crisis by refusing to raise wages on the grounds of lack of performance.
