Fine of 500 pesetas for calling your son on “Jontxu” street. The sanctioned citizen was called José Mariscal Arana. The military commander of Las Arenas reproached Franco that the use of names with separatist dyes represented rejection and disobedience. Five months earlier, the Francoist Ministry of Justice threatened that non-Castilian names would be considered as attacks on the new regime.
