In Barakaldo they killed Hermenegildo Alvariño, a Galician worker and a CAPV-ANV militant. In front of a bar he was shot four times by PSOE members on the day of the Spanish general election. In the Left Margin, clashes between Carlists, Socialists, Republicans and Nationalists were common at the time, causing militants from different parties to have hidden weapons. In addition, PSOE used to have hegemony among workers from abroad.
