23 October 1943,
In Auschwitz gas chambers, Jew Francesca Mann killed a Nazi SS officer. After ordering the eviction of Nazi soldiers, he threw his clothes on top, took off the gun and shot in the stomach. His shot served as a signal for the other women to attack the SS men. There are different versions of what happened next, but it is all assumed that the Nazi officer died that day, that another one was injured and that all Jewish women were killed.
