In Arrasate, several leftists and trade unionists were arrested, as the following day he was going to visit the town of Franco. The local authorities wanted to "clean" Arrasate with leftist elements. However, in the Upper Must the reception was cold, apart from the hospital cries made by a few falangists. The fascist dictator Franco, who was spending the summer in San Sebastian, was invited to the palace of Count Monterrón de Mondragón. Two months later, the City Hall named Franco as honorary mayor of Mondragón with the help of Francoist mayor Santiago Bastida.
