10 January 1917,
The National Women's Party EE.UU. started the pickets to request women's right to vote on the White House portal.
They denounced the president ' s hypocrisy in promoting the defence of foreign democracies during the First World War, while half of his country ' s population lacked voting rights.
For two and a half years, regardless of time, they protested every day at the door of the White House.
