19 January 1978,
The penalty of Adultery was abolished in Hego Euskal Herria and in the Spanish State. Until then, if a married woman had sex with other men, the woman was punished with a prison sentence of up to six years.
For the man, going to bed with a married woman was a crime, knowing she was married. If a married man lies with another woman, she committed a crime of convalescence, and, unlike women, women were also condemned here.
