The causes of the initial war in Ukraine are not only those that were explained to us, because there are other reasons. Russia said it had to take a step in the defense of Ukrainian Russian speakers, while the Ukrainian government had to confront the Russian army in order to stop the invasion. But the question of rare earths remained hidden, the Western authorities had their eyes set on these precious lands, which will play a huge role in the economy of the future.

In any case, rare earths are a strategic raw material for today’s economy: In Artificial Intelligence, electric cars, mobiles, spacecraft and the military industry. Most of the exploitation of these rare earths on the planet takes place in China. In fact, at least one in three are mined in China and imported from that country, both by the US and the EU, because their dependence on China is undeniable. And that’s where Ukraine comes in, where there are a lot of rare earths, 7% of the world’s existences; also, the largest number of mines are located in the area acquired by Russia.

The US Democrats gave Ukraine a lot of “subsidies” because they thought they would weaken Russia, and with Trump’s victory, the situation has changed radically. In my humble opinion, Trump wants to attract Russia and distance himself from China, because it is better to reconcile with an enemy like Russia than to fight, besides, Russia seems militarily and economically less dangerous.

With this objective in mind, both Trump and his command team want to recover the funds donated by Biden and have placed the exploitation of rare earths in the middle of negotiations between the United States and Ukraine, in the hope that in this way they will pay off their debts.

After all, the three main countries want to divide the world economy, as did Britain and the French State in the 19th century. Now it seems that the US, Russia and China want to divide the world, excluding the EU.

On the other hand, in order to gain prominence, the EU authorities believe that the defence industry can be a solid base to give impetus to an economy that has lagged behind us. In order to do this, the Europeans want to make us aware that they want to panic about Russia so that we can accept militarisation.

When did Russia invade Europe? If we take a look at history, it is obvious that it has been the other way around in the last centuries. In fact, Napoleon invaded; after the Bolsheviks seized power, the French and British auxiliary governments of the Russian “white army”; and Hitler also entered Russia and left 26 million Soviet corpses. So I find it very difficult to assume that Russia will now invade Europe.

But how to defend Europe? In fact, the European military industry is weak, except that of the French State and Great Britain. There is little production in the rest of the countries and, in case of rearmament, we will have to buy weapons from the United States, where we already make 55% of what we spend on weapons. However, we will continue to depend on the United States, and the military industry of that country will be profited.

In the short and medium term, we will continue to buy weapons from the United States, if not, festively. And where do we get the soldiers? Are we ready to receive the corpses of the soldiers while the pockets of our oligarchs overflow with money? I hope that, once again, a strong anti-militarist movement will emerge between us.
