WHEN: January 18th.
IN WHICH: Jimmy Jazz of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
----------------------------------------------
I have a question in my mind lately: how much do things change in 30 years? Yes, reader, you guessed it: I’ve just turned three decades old. It will be a well-known crisis of what has been included in the fourth episode, kontixu. In any case, in this first chronicle of my life – others buy motorcycles, houses, etc., haha – I intend to answer that question.
Following Jimmy’s usual concert schedule, we started at Murgia and finished the poteocho at Bar Andagoya. While ordering the last one, boga-boga, drifting towards the sea and the gestures of happiness of the wrinkles of the corners of the eyes and lips of the bar delight the eyes. A friend told me that we are among the youngest, almost quietly. I thought to myself: full respect, but I didn't come for Delirium.
Over the years, some things don’t change: we’ve come a long way. The wind is on our side today, however, and we have had time to look for a suitable pause for jackets, order a beer for four euros and observe the area in the tranquility until the concert begins. We were struck by the sight of Xabat’s orange-transparent battery on the front line and dreaming that we were talking about an incredible presence, dreaming... the intron has silenced us.
The young trio takes to the stage in their third concert back from the gap with limits. It is not the only innovation: Beñat (Mahl Kobat) will play the bass from now on. As if that were not enough, although it has not yet been released, the new album has been played in the first half of the concert, from top to bottom. The distortion of the guitar and the coarse screams, the abrupt changes of rhythm and the deep letters will continue there in the third long work.
On the other hand, I am not the essence, but they have lost their innocence; they have been coaxed and are putting on stage a way of doing it the last time. The intentions and character of the bands are not often perceived only in the music. As an indicator of the way we understand the scene and the culture, the following have been thrown between songs: solidarity with the Palestinian resistance, one; the struggle against the Carpinteria and the call for demonstration, two; and the cry that the concert halls should be a safe space for all, although the other Beñat still pronounces it with a point of shame. There are three of them.
The first two would have been played in a men’s concert 30 years ago. The third one is hard to imagine. I didn’t hear that at the second concert. Here's the answer to the question, reader. You value whether this is a lot or a little.
