I received your e-mail in personal mail on the strike portals. At first, like many others, I thought it was to let you know what options we have in the face of the strike. But no, the e-mail received was a political and communicative movement against the strike.
I will confess that he left me speechless, unable to believe what I saw. Not enough with the use of the media, you have used the personal framework against the workers’ movement. You should be committed to ensuring, strengthening and improving public services. You who should be committed to the future of our little ones.
The strike and mobilization of education workers is a struggle for quality public services. Better working conditions for our employees create the conditions to guarantee a quality education for our children. Low ratios are essential for proper diversity management. Teacher stabilization processes provide an opportunity to strengthen educational projects. And to achieve all the demands, struggle and mobilization is essential.
That’s why I tell you seriously that I don’t understand. I don't understand how you can play such a dirty game against civil servants. Against our public services. Perhaps because you want to promote privatization and precarization in exchange for the enrichment of a few. Or because you’re interested in making the socio-economic gaps and imbalances even bigger, who knows what with macabre goals.
I am writing this letter after the first days of strikes, happy, foolish, because the call for strikes, 75% according to the unions, has had a great success. Because public employees have demonstrated their unequivocal commitment to quality services, education, coexistence, a fairer society. Congratulations and thanks to the strikers. We will be at your side.
