If Euskal Herria is a nation, let us move forward, building, expanding and implementing the structures of the Basque democratic nation. Let us at last make a positive policy based on the Basque nation. Let us finally build the house of Basque citizenship, Euskal Herria.

Basque Country is a nation. That is what is said in our country, but paradoxically, in these times when the number of votes given to the institutional Basque parties is increasing, the process of denationalization is also rapidly spreading from the two states into the interior of our house. At the same time as the number of citizens who have learned Euskera has also increased, we see that the use of Euskera has weakened, slowed down, slowed down and regressed and risks being completely lost. The reality is that we have the Basque nation in a state of emergency.

Two states of heavy burden have been placed on us, each with its “nationality” and “universal language”, forcefully and effectively extending to both sides of Euskal Herria. They have forced us to be, feel and speak Spanish and French, and in our case there are not many who already regard this imposition as a natural fact. To this end, France and Spain have an extensive network of media.

But let us also say that as a future project, both Spain and France are failed states. Why? Let us look at France: although the so-called progressive state alliance triumphs in the elections, the governance structures that go from macronism to the extreme right of the Lepenist prevail.

Look at Spain, this eternal Spain is a boat of rigid structures: in proa it has a rotten monarchy, the bourbons are alternately tymonels; in the right amulan the military, in the other the judges; in the bridge the caste of the business elite; in the stern, a government always docile and with its sailors, raised and auxiliary chiquilles. Spain is a wounded boat called Spain, and all the ballast or load always accumulates on the right limb. How are we going to embark there on the Basques? Not by our own will!

We have to recover the dexterity we have always had when navigating the vast seas. But on a ship of its own, taking the march in the band leading to the port of its own nation and building the right crew. Do not accept under any circumstances that these two states decide the structure of our nation, our history, our culture, our language, social organization, our direction and our future.

If we are a nation, we have to take responsibility for being a nation once and for all, with all the consequences. We will not get on the defensive by opening the umbrellas under the chaparron of attacks by states. No.

What supports us? The identity of Basque citizenship, the majority will to be Euskaldun. That is what we need to make way for. We have to recover the positive thread of the history of Euskal Herria. We, the Basques, have never been impositors, we are victims, have often been defended firmly and even vigorously. We are not going to take for granted a strange and malicious version of our historical trajectory. We should therefore not settle debts other than ours, nor accept the resulting imposed condition.

The Basques are not a “national minority” in the Basque Country, although the states and the rest are committed to it. The voluntary and democratic nationality of the Basques is Basque nationality. On the contrary, the national minorities in Euskal Herria are those who feel Spanish or French. Consequently, the democratic organization of the Basque nation must guarantee the Basque nationality and the universal language of the Basque country. The responsibility of being a nation requires the development of the Basque democratic national construction.
