Yesterday the CO2 emissions inventory of Araba, Gipuzkoa and Bizkaia was published, after verifying that emissions have increased by 4.7%, and today the roads (and petrol stations) of cars have been filled and the skies of aircraft have been filled. In any case, for me, which has almost gone unnoticed, the last energy balance of the Basque Energy Agency has once again been the publication that has worried me the most. One, that 47% of the energy used comes from the combustion of oil; two, that the energy self-sufficiency in the CAPV is 8.7% miserable, or the opposite, that 91.3% of the energy we consume comes from outside; and three, that only 6.6% of the electricity we consume comes from local renewable sources. This is particularly serious because, in addition to a strong dependence on electricity produced abroad, most of the electricity generated comes from the combustion of gas. And, of course, we cannot forget that every megawatt from gas burning has far more CO2 emissions than from renewable sources, according to the international panel on climate change. Specifically, 44 times more than the wind. That must also be taken into account in the debates we are giving, right?
