Philosophy “Eixu Zeuk”. That is the basis and the goal. “Take the initiative, stand your mind and love.” There is no more. Self-management, at one time, seemed like an alternative for those who had no other choice. If a record company didn't publish your work, you did yours. Nowadays, the record production of Euskal Herria is a bit rarer than zero, and what is premium is half manager, and half label. Paying half of the copies and receiving 20% of the concerts. Mediocre treatment.
So beyond calculations, Eixu Zure Zeuk or DIY is a basic philosophy. And beyond self-help books, far from the neoliberal ideology of personal development, at the center is not the individual, but the collective. The slogan is Eixue Zeuok. Join, share, write, win.
Zikin is one of the most beloved groups of the underground scene in Euskal Herria. Turbulence and earthquakes in Basque and European halls. They're quick live and they spread strength. But the nights they don't touch will also find the peers. This stitches the net. How many musicians there are, only those you can find in their concerts!
The album is global. Cementos Armosetan's first work had six songs, with a duration of 9 minutes and 19 seconds. Bala Galdua Zure Buru Galduan, for his part, has eight songs and 15 minutes and 14 seconds. Good and short, two times good, it's written in Spanish. And in other words, with good friends, the hours, briefly. It's quick because it doesn't repeat anything, and so it seems that the old message is involuntarily repeated: there's no future, now it's time!In the song Lohija comes out a little bit
more light with the colors of rockandrollee and chords (can you talk about tatxerism? ). But the entire album does not lose the line: fast, direct, live and, above all, fast, just and alive songs.
Use the Punk Berria label? Well, on the one hand, labels are mostly frames for newspapers and festivals, so the discussion is not too interesting. On the other hand, the use of the news seems to indicate that it has not been done so far and that an additional point is wanted. If not, hasn't it become punk so far? "Gusurre," as you would say in Lekitxo.
But adding to the label Punk, post-punk or punk means an intuition: this is not out of time, it is not revival, it is not old.
As the old Artze said, it is tradition to talk about the old. The new punk is because of the punk tradition. Because punk is always going to be new, because the system can't make it its own. A rhythm can be painted with honey and posas. But the subsurface knows who it is. And he lives without concessions. “We are brothers of the oppressed, we already know where they come from.”
