Does eco-axism come to us?
The eco-social crisis generated by capitalism is causing global unrest across the planet. The "summits" of material and energy resources, establishing limits for growth and accumulation, entail imbalances between nature and society. The crazy wheels of extractivism, climate change and biodiversity loss. The crises of surveillance and food, the weakening of democracy, racism, xenophobia, necropolitics and wars are part of this disturbing panorama. Crisis of complex and diverse civilization.
While the "imperial life" of the capitalist elites increasingly condemns more people to misery, right-wing populism continues to grow throughout the world.
The ultra-right groups want to divert their eyes from the process of expropriation and expulsion that we are experiencing. According to Yayo Herrero, this process can only be hidden in an environment of tension, violence, fear and hysteria.
In this way, we perceive the reappearance of the ecologist discourse in the new authoritarian populisms. Ethnoecologism for whites and Europeans. Dismantle the "communist" monopoly of ecological issues and use racism and xenophobia in the defence of the rights of the nation.

What to do? Learn from history and make a proper analysis. In German Nazism and in the Spanish phalanx, we have historical examples that allow us to understand these relationships between ecology and the extreme right. On the contrary, I believe that eofascism is not a category or concept of aid. New fascisms appear everywhere. Territorial fascism (Trump, Bolsonaro, Salvini…) that establishes internal and external borders to distinguish leftover citizens. Or the fossil fascism of Andreas Malm and Zetkin Collective. In his view, fossil technologies have been born full of racism.
I am convinced, as Emilio Gentile says, that talking about the "return of fascism" or "eternal fascism" does not make any historical sense. It increases misinformation about what fascism really was and prevents us from understanding the present.
Some authors prefer the "environmentalism of the extreme right". I think it is more politically and ideologically appropriate, where we find a mixture of fascism, conservatism and nationalpopulism. And in it, naturalism, spirituality, mysticism, authority, autarky, nostalgia and Manichaism as heuristic devices.
The European ultra-right have contradictory positions. From negationism to pragmatic environmentalism, always for racist and chauvinistic reasons. The guilt… immigrants!
