Walk from a train station, two friends and a hug. This hug will be frozen until the next meeting. I'll come home, he'll stay there. There, too, will be free the painful feeling that injustice wants us to catch. Jesús Rodríguez (Santa Coloma de Gramenet, 1974) is a journalist, founder and partner of the cooperative media Directo. The police and justice are experts in abuses, and if we want to understand why their current situation is, we have to bear in mind that he is an expert on many other things that are not by chance.
Jesus has been exiled for several months in Geneva (Switzerland), after being charged by the judge of the Spanish National Court, Manuel García-Castellón, in the Tsunami Democratic case. With the popular accusations of Vox and other extreme right-wing groups, the judge has pointed out Jesus and eleven others as presumed responsible for coordinating the non-violent actions of this platform. In fact, in the fall of 2019, the Democratic Tsunami movement organised protests against the ruling of social and political leaders in connection with the referendum on 1 October 2017.
They are allegations of terrorism, no more and no less. For this reason, and given the obvious lack of guarantee of this cause, and the use of litigation by the judiciary as a weapon of the outbreak of the Amnesty Law, Jesus decided to extricate himself. The desk was maintained, but the writing chair remains empty. Since then we have had to learn to live in the void of Jesus and to transform the anger that generates us in strength to move forward. It cannot be otherwise, because it is precisely their aim to plunge us into defeatism and blockade.
Who is the terrorist who is peacefully fighting for his country’s right to decide, or who is protecting the butcher Netanyahu after more than 35,000 deaths in Gaza?
The bunker in the 78’s regime says that the exiles of Jesus and the rest, as well as those who have left before them from the Catalan countries, the Basque Country and other State nations, are “fled”. They do not accept that they are the ones who have forced them to flee physically, because they could not overcome the arguments of Jesus and others nor cope with their dignity. They are so cowardly that in the last Catalan election campaign the electoral board prohibited the public media from exiling and referring with words of exile to the only solution these people have left to protect their freedom.
The extreme right that drives the case against the Democratic Tsunami is echoed by inquisitive magistrates, liar communicators and the other leaders of the "spirit of concord" of the transition. This extreme right opens up hate speech to frighten social minorities that do not take place in the conception of their homogeneous and authoritarian state. My question is who is the terrorist, who is peacefully fighting for his country’s right to decide, or who is protecting the butcher Netanyahu after more than 35,000 deaths in Gaza?
The end of the innocence comes and anyone who has wanted to realise today knows that the rules of this game are built with a trap, but they have to be clear that we are not going to leave the game. Now thousands of euros are needed every month to keep Jesus’ exile and we ask for solidarity to achieve it. More importantly, though, you have to explain to everyone that in the Kingdom of Spain, in 2024, there are honored people who have to leave the house to fight for their ideals. As the motto of the campaign for Jesus (www.nosaltrespertu.cat) states: "Thy per nosaltres, nosaltres per tu" [Thou for us, us for thee]. Nobody gives up here.

Many at Christmas feel more lazy than illusion when we think about meals and family gatherings. But we anticipate that it is not food that makes us feel collectively uncomfortable, but the normativity that defines the traditional family. Moreover, we would dare to say that the... [+]
