At home is included a corner with which we will feel with us, a space that embraces us to the tiredness of the night, that space in which we will feel liberated from crying, a home that will connect us with tenderness, that will accompany us in solitude. However, many of the lives in motion do not have time to complete this heritage. Pulsations of survival, emancipation, demand for work, studies, escapes; there are many different reasons that can lead to life short term stay architectures and become long-term habitat models. The construction of a corner where we want to build our own can then become a constant search, sustained by a tension between the need to adhere to some place and the difficulty to adhere. At a time when the possibility of building a domestic space is difficult, in many places we make alternative nests to the house, building a territory of constellation houses that turns on and off.
The nest without landing can be made up of the objects that we carry with us and that we have made. Things that fit in a number of boxes can become indispensable in fulfilling our vital movements until they become a substitute for our own corner. Some strong reason will link us to these objects, which will not be the most important objects, nor the most expensive, but those that have as much meaning as to form the nest. They will be things that confuse practicality, memory and symbolism, with great power: they will have the ability to create a family space in homeless life. This link of spatial lightness will generate a knowledge of the affective value of materiality and teach us the art of building a nest for domestic people with different object compositions. With great plasticity, we can deploy our strip almost everywhere, the resilience and the key to survival, except in the nest, in architecture without architects.
