In an increasingly narrow interval between election campaigns, it should be remembered that we have entered the decisive years of the twenty-first century. To give just one example, scientists are terrified by the continual overcoming of ocean temperature records and no longer know how to explain the gravity of the situation. According to the United Nations, it is urgent to halve our CO2 emissions by 2030, but eleven pessimists accumulate per positive indicator. That's when there's data, because surprisingly, the latest official data in our area is 2021. As if hiding information removes the problem.
Just five and a half years to reach 2030, but (almost) everything to do. The main decarbonisation vectors are identified, but we cannot follow good wheels. By way of illustration, the UK has reduced its CO2 emissions by 52% since 1990. We, around 10%. 60% of electricity generated in Germany already comes from renewable sources. In CAPV only 11%. A massive replacement of gas boilers by heat pump systems is taking place in Northern Europe. In our case, almost no fingerprints. In electric mobility we are in one of the last wagons of a state that is the last blow in Europe. A lost medium, blocked in Byzantine discussions, listening in the back to the careless of those who seek to perpetuate the fossil system. That's a bargain, they say.
The transition discourse “no hurry” has meant that there is still no minimum planning to order renewables
Those who say they are going to take the government in the next legislature have had a confusing message. It seems that the transition must be made without anxiety and without haste, without endangering industry and its jobs. They show that they have understood nothing. Because the best way to put industrial jobs at risk is to do so slowly. Or does anyone believe that products produced by our industry can be sold once in Europe when the major European countries produce equivalent but decarbonised products?
If the situation is not characterised, I think there are strong blows. Either because of the climate confusion, or because of the socio-economic consequences of the lack of adaptation of the productive fabric or because of the disease of dependence on fossil energies abroad. We are multiplying the duties, yes, and dismantling the discourse “no haste” is one of the first. This has led, among other things, to the lack of a minimum planning plan for renewables. So there is where to push, without getting stuck in positions that will delay the transition.
