Resistance
Through popular movements and political action we have become part of our dictionary the concept of resistance. Resistance to patriarchy, capitalism, colonialism, imperialism ... Deepening the word, each person, group or movement has its own definition.
In general, I would say that resistance is closely related to restraint or hold. At some point we have distinguished between passive and active resistance, trying to establish a more “peaceful” category than the former. Apart from the forms, I would dare to say that resistance and passivity are antonyms; if there is resistance there is opposition, and that is an action that must be well coordinated if it is carried out in a group. In addition, resistance implies construction. Because we have faced a hegemonic system, that is, we have built something against it, comes a generally violent response from hegemony, which differs in the form of punishment for the systematic violence that hegemony exercises over its normality. Perhaps we maintain that violence.
